The Doofer is anything you want it to be. From gutless mush to solid waves it is the ultimate all-rounder when you want to catch as many waves as possible and have a bunch of fun. A great paddler, fast, easy to turn and holds a lovely line in the barrel. The Doofer came about from the Fourth team asking for a board that would be a bit of everything for when they travel. It is essentially a hybrid board. A one board quiver that really does it all!!

Fourth Surfboards Doofer ESE Construction

The Fourth surfboards Doofer in ese construction is anything you want it to be. From gutless mush to solid waves it is the ultimate all-rounder when you want to catch as many waves as possible and have a bunch of fun. A great paddler, fast, easy to turn and holds a lovely line in the barrel. The Doofer came about from the Fourth team asking for a board that would be a bit of everything for when they travel. It is essentially a hybrid board.

THE TECH STUFF

The outline is that of a groveller in the nose and a shortboard back end. The tail pulled into a round pin/thumb tail. The wide point is pushed right up the board to increase the rail line which gives you the feel of a shortboard when you have your back foot on the tail pad, and the nose is nice and wide which is great for paddling into waves quickly.

ONE

The rocker is fairly unique on the Doofer, it has a medium tail kick which is fairly curvy to the bottom of the rocker into a drawn out entry rocker; providing you with the best of both worlds when it comes to hold, pocket surfing and speed. The deck is packed full of volume. This means that you can ride the Doofer fairly short without feeling under-gunned. When the waves get a bit of size it’s go time on the Doofer. So the balance of using it in smaller waves and bigger waves really helps it to be a versatile board.

BOARD

The concave is that of a charge model from the tail to the wide point with a single running slightly deeper through the nose. This helps with paddling and lift in the water when you need to maintain your speed on the smaller waves but really gives it some hold when you are surfing off the tail-pad in bigger waves.

QUIVER

If you can only have one board in your quiver then the Fourth Surfboard Doofer is for you. Providing confidence in bigger surf and wave count in smaller surf, the Doofer is the ultimate all rounder. a one board quiver that really does it all. Ride the Doofer 1-2 litres over the volume of your go to shortboard. The Doofer surfboard handles foam well so don’t be scared of having too much volume.
