The 31.5” Holy Toledo is suited to teenage to adult surfers 5”4’ – 5”10’ (162cm – 177cm) in height. The 31.5” Holy Toledo is the a revamped version of Filipe Toledo's first SmoothStar model when he was 17 years of age. The 31.5” has a shallow concave and is suited to surfers who wish to pump and generate speed on flat sections. The 31.5” Toledo is also considered the step up board from the 30” Flying Fish, as it shares the same concave profile but has more width, length, and wheelbase.
Turning Mechanism SmoothStar Thruster D
Deck Length 31.5”
Deck Thickness 5 ply Stratified American Beech,
2 ply Canadian Maple
Deck Width 26cm
Wheels Medium on front & back
Wheel Bearings ABEC 7
Trucks White powder coated aluminium
Colours Teal & aqua
The model name “Holy Toledo” was inspired by Filipe’s nickname when he was 16 years of age - a result of his radical and progressive surfing style. Toledo loved the looseness of the 32” Flying Fish on the original Thruster, but needed a bit more drive so a design was created extending all the measurements. Toledo later tested a few different setups of varying width and wheels base distances to finally settle on this version. The 31.5” Holy Toledo with Thruster D gives surfers all round performance. It excels in generation of speed on flats.
The original 33" to 31.5"
The model name “Holy Toledo” is still the model name but the size and graphic has now changed. The Holy Toledo with Thruster D is 31.5" instead of 33" but the wheelbase is the same. With Thruster D, we've made the board lighter and even more longer lasting.
Thruster D Technology
The 31.5" Holy Toledo model comes with the new SmoothStar Thruster D technology. The Thruster D is the latest in precision engineering that gives surfers the ultimate surf feeling with 12%-15% more hold. It's also lighter and comes with a 5 year warranty
The New 31.5" Graphics
We have completely revamped the Holy Toledo model graphics. The outline is similar but the colour change is completely different. Its more modern and fresh and we took out Filipe's surf stoked bloodshot eye. The colour scheme is suited much more to the powder coated white trucks.
What's the difference between the 31" Johanne Defay and the 31.5" Holy Toledo models?
Why doesn't the 31.5" Toledo deck have very little concave?
